Anil K. Makhija has been selected as the new dean of the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University.

The appointment of Makhija, currently the school's associate dean, will be effective on Saturday. It is subject to approval by the university's board of trustees.

Makhija, 63, has been on the faculty of the business college since 1998 and has more than 20 years of experience in academic leadership roles.

He replaces Christine Poon, a former vice chairwoman at Johnson & Johnson who became dean in 2009. She will remain on the faculty.
