Columbus C.E.O. magazine is proud to introduce the Customer Service Awards, new in 2013.

Customer service is a very important, yet often overlooked, aspect of any business. People who have good experiences are great ambassadors and will recommend your company to others. On the flip side, the horror stories spread even faster. Today, outstanding customer service is all too often a lost art.

We want to recognize the Central Ohio individuals and organizations who stand out from the crowd and put a priority on providing superior customer service. Nominations will be taken from readers in a two-stage process over the next several months.

The initial nomination phase will be held March 15 to April 15. To nominate a deserving individual or organization, simply fill out the online form.Click here to take the survey

Nominations will be tallied and compiled for a voting phase, which will occur from mid-May to mid-June. Those results will be tabulated to determine the Customer Service Awards winners and finalists.

Awards will be given in these five categories:

• Innovation

In recognition of an organization that has developed a new way to encourage and track customer satisfaction

• Service Training Program

In recognition of an organization's in-house training program that emphasizes the importance of top-notch service, for new and/or existing employees

• Outstanding Customer Service Rep

Recognizes an individual who provides superior, friendly service to customers, time after time

• Outstanding Customer Service Manager

Recognizes a manager who prioritizes superior, friendly service and who works to ensure that the representatives he or she supervises consistently provide it

• Above & Beyond

Recognizes an individual who goes above and beyond his or her job duties to provide a unique level of service

Each category has two divisions, large organization (500 or more employees) and small organization (fewer than 500 employees), for a total of 10 awards. Nominations can come from employees or customers. Both nonprofit and for-profit organizations are eligible.

Customer Service Awards results will be featured in the October 2013 issue of Columbus C.E.O.
