In the fierce battle for the best employees, it helps to have ammunition. Companies with creative cultures, dynamic leadership and engaged employees can attract and retain the best talent in central Ohio's ultra-competitive labor market.

Columbus CEO's Top Workplaces program offers businesses, nonprofits and public agencies the chance to earn recognition for exemplary working environments, showcasing to prospective employees the qualities that will allow them to grow and thrive. Starting on July 8, anyone in an organization with at least 50 employees can nominate his or her employer as a 2019 Top Workplace. Nominations will be accepted online at From there,Columbus CEO's research partner, Energage (formerly Workplace Dynamics), will then explain the process of surveying employees to interested organizations. Workplaces are evaluated based upon 24-question surveys given to employees.

The deadline for making a nomination is Sept. 14. Though that deadline may seem early for a feature to be published in May 2019, the long timeline is needed to produce the kind of in-depth analysis that provides the bedrock of this project.
