2014 HR Excellence Awards
You win with people!
Legendary OSU Coach Woody Hayes made that axiom the focus and title of his 1973 book about football, but it is probably even more widely regarded today as a solid business fundamental. Most companies consider their employees to be their most precious asset. It makes sense, then, to encourage and recognize excellence among those whose work revolves around finding, developing and supporting their organizations' workforce.
For the third year, Columbus CEO is proud to present our HR Excellence Awards: Achievements in Human Resources. HR consulting firm Findley Davies has been a great partner in helping to sponsor these awards from the beginning.
This year's winners and finalists are top notch! The pages that follow spotlight eight women, men and organizations judged the best in seven categories: Executive of the Year (with separate awards for large, midsize and small organizations), Future Leaders (honoring two who tied for the honor), Good Works, HR Innovation and Lifetime Achievement. Close behind the winners are seven finalists-one in each category. All are clearly dedicated to high ideals and best practices in human resources.
Columbus CEO is indebted to the nine HR experts and business professionals who reviewed nominations received earlier this year from a broad range of central Ohio employers. The judges include former winners of the HR Excellence Awards as well as local HR professionals. Each performed independent reviews of a select group of nominees, scoring them against award criteria and noting their choices for winners and finalists.
In recognition of their inspiring work, this year's winners and finalists will be honored at a private reception at the Wigwam in Pickerington.
As you read about the 2014 honorees, I invite you to think about those who carry out vital HR functions for your business or nonprofit organization. A good way to thank them might be to nominate them next year for one of our HR Excellence Awards!
