A report by technology career site found tech salaries in Columbus jumped 14.2 percent from 2018 to 2019.

It was the biggest increase in metro-area salaries measured by the Dice report, which found Columbus-area tech workers now earn an average salary of $92,017. The study recorded 38 percent year-over-year growth in local tech job postings. While Silicon Valley and industry hubs like Seattle and Boston still boast six-figure annual average salaries, growth was much slower there, Dice reported, hovering around 4 percent to 5 percent. It was flat nationally.

Statewide, Dice found Ohio’s tech salaries rose 7.8 percent last year to an average of $87,019.

According to the report, “Columbus is growing into a full-fledged Midwestern tech hub,” citing employers such as JPMorgan Chase, CareWorks, IBM and Accenture as key drivers of the trend.
