The Central Ohio Transit Authority and Rev1 Ventures have announced a partnership to find and support emerging technologies.

Technology is bringing new possibilities to public transit in efficiency, safety, last mile planning and more, says Sophia Mohr, chief innovation and technology officer at COTA.

COTA and Rev1 are teaming up to launch COTA’s new GO! Mobility Lab to find and evaluate potential innovations for the agency such as real-time electronic signage informing riders at the bus stop when buses are expected and which routes are next at the stop.

“We are moving beyond being a bus company to a mobility solutions provider,” Mohr says. “To have someone vetting that technology helps us get the best foot in the door working on projects we need.”
