An Austin, Texas-based taco chain will open its first Ohio restaurant in Columbus later this year.

Torchy’s Tacos is scheduled to open at 1282 Essex Ave. in the Milo-Grogan neighborhood in the next several months.

The Columbus location will be the chain’s first ghost kitchen, offering only delivery and carryout, which customers can order through Torchy's website or DoorDash.

Torchy’s is exploring the possibility of dine-in service, a release said, although it did not provide a timeline.

Torchy's tacos include jerk chicken, fried avocado and green chile pork. There are two dubbed “The Democrat” with beef barbecue and avocado, and the “The Republican” with jalapeno sausage, shredded cheese and pico de gallo. There's also a Baja shrimp taco made with fried shrimp, cabbage slaw and pickled onions.

Most tacos cost between $3 and $4.

One of the more famous menu items is the Trailer Park, a taco with fried chicken, green chiles, pico de gallo, cheddar jack cheese, queso, salsas and guacamole. The name harks back to Torchy’s beginnings as a food trailer.

Torchy’s has locations throughout the southern and western United States.
