Appointments & Awards: Greg Davies moves to the Columbus Partnership

Greg Davies, Vice President of Planning and Development
Prior to this role, Davies had been with the City of Columbus for 20 years in various roles. He built Mayor Ginther’s cabinet and staff after he was elected in November of 2015. As director of public utilities from 2011 to 2015, he managed Water, Sewers and Drains, and Power, totaling a $600 million budget. He also served as a deputy chief of staff for former Mayor Michael Coleman, and as deputy director of development where he implemented the Home Again program to fight blight in the city. His last day with the city is October 30, 2019. A replacement has not yet been named.

This doubles Dinsmore’s local office's workers’ compensation group up to eight attorneys, making it the largest in Columbus for employment defense among the firms listed in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Law Firms rankings. Managing Partner Shane Dawson and his three associates (Jared Buker, Melissa Black and Niki Talik) will join Dinsmore partners Brett Miller and Michael Squillace along with associates Caroline Diwik and Christen Hignett. One secretary and two paralegals will also join Dinsmore from Dawson.

Jeffrey Woda, principal of Woda Cooper Companies, was named to the West Virginia Affordable Housing Hall of Fame. The award honors an individual who has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to affordable housing and whose career leadership has achieved important and lasting results in the community, according to organizers. Woda Cooper’s Boury Lofts in Wheeling, West Virginia, was named the 2019 West Virginia Housing Award Winner at the same ceremony.

Ragias handles real estate transactions such as foreclosure, bankruptcy and probate filings. Before joining Ice Miller, she served as underwriting counsel for Title First Agency in the residential real estate department.

For two decades, Bates has served in communications and fundraising roles in the cultural sector, most recently leading corporate partnerships at the Columbus Zoo.
