This Can't Wait-Get Out There!
As nice as the spring weather has been lately, are you looking for excuses to be outside more? Here's one that will keep you active outside until the end of September-free fitness classes at Columbus Commons! The classes are courtesy of UnitedHealthcare, which knows what employers are increasingly accepting: active, health-motivated employees are good for the bottom line. Classes are offered Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday morning. Perfect for growing numbers of Downtown residents!
May's Gallery Hop in the Short North is another great excuse to be outside and Downtown. Always the first Saturday of the month, the hop offers so much to see and do, you'll want to plan to attend every first Saturday the rest of the year.
Plenty of outdoor projects and spring cleanup activities are on tap in Dublin the morning of May 7 for the Dublin Chamber of Commerce Community Service Day 2016. Volunteers can sign up online to help Dublin schools, nonprofits, senior citizens and residents facing personal hardships.
And if you can't be outside, just be outstanding!
Jaime Greene is outstanding among his community planning peers, as evidenced by his recent induction in the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners. Greene's local Planning NEXT firm has consulted with planning efforts in several local suburbs in addition to helping MORPC and Columbus State Community College develop a creative campus. Congrats!
Five outstanding Columbus women are in line for the annual Visionary Award to be presented July 29 by the Columbus Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners. NAWBO finalists include some we have covered previously, including Elizabeth Blount McCormick of UNIGLOBE Travel Designers and Mary McCarthy of Your Management Team.
Hal Keller, president of Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing, will be honored Oct. 13 by Homeport as the recipient of its second annual Voice & Vision Award. Keller is being recognized for 35 years of helping families and seniors with housing and other practical needs. Outstanding!
