This Can't Wait: No Fooling!

Mary Yost

Will it be safe to go into work on Friday? I have been in some workplaces where April Fool's Day was a bit tricky, with coworkers filling desk drawers with packing peanuts and making prank calls for the receptionist to page Myra Maines or some other pun name.

No fooling about this: We've extended the deadline to submit nominations for 2016 HR Excellence Awards. Go past April 4, though, and you're out of luck.

Don't fool around and miss the free Market Your Way to Success series of four Friday morning seminars offered by the Ohio Small Business Development Center at Innovate New Albany. Participants must commit to attend all four sessions, April 1, 8, 15 and 22. The first one is Identifying and Determining Your Target Market.

It would be foolish to ignore these additional marketing and social media opportunities:

Also not to be missed, Startup Storytellers: The Path of the Legend, April 6 at the Columbus Museum of Art, with keynoter Nancy Kramer. I'll be there to interview some of the panelists lined up by CivicHacks and its energetic volunteers.

There is plenty to learn about good marketing and public relations strategies online in guest blogs posted to our CEO Live site, such as this gem last week-What Companies Can Learn from the Kellogg Company' Crisis Response.

Contributor Hinda Mitchell offers great advice on how to respond when employees do foolish things that can damage your company's reputation.
