Hertz, Kate Spade and Ford lead rising stocks

NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Tuesday on the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq stock market:


Hertz Global Holdings Inc., up $1.04 to $9.54

The car rental company said it cut costs and improved the management of its fleet.

Kate Spade & Co., up $2.17 to $21.99

The clothing, handbag and accessories maker gave a strong profit forecast for 2016.

Honeywell International Inc., up $4.52 to $105.87

The industrial conglomerate gave up on an effort to buy rival United Technologies. It said the company wasn't willing to negotiate a deal.

Ford Motor Co., up 58 cents to $13.09

The automaker said its sales rose almost 20 percent in February, a better gain than analysts expected.

Medtronic PLC, down $3.21 to $74.18

The medical device maker's quarterly sales fell short of analysts' projections.

Lennar Corp., up $1.69 to $43.63

The homebuilder rose after the U.S. government said construction spending improved in January.

Workday Inc., up $11.29 to $71.74

The human resources software company reported a smaller quarterly loss and better-than-expected sales.


Rockwell Medical Inc., down $3.29 to $6.31

The maker of products used to treat kidney disease and anemia reported a bigger-than-expected loss and weak sales.
