The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has designated cars and trucks from 12 different auto and truck makers as "Priority One" for replacement of Takata air bag inflators. The agency says the vehicles have the highest risk for problems with the inflators, which can explode with too much force and hurl shrapnel into the passenger compartment. Most of the top priority vehicles are in a high humidity region along the U.S. Gulf Coast.
