Republican megadonor urges talk of climate change solutions

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Republican businessman says his party should stop fighting the science of climate change and start talking solutions.

Jay Faison (FAY'-zahn) is spending $175 million to get his party to take climate change seriously. And he's commissioned a new survey he says shows voters agree with him.

Faison is being compared to Tom Steyer, a billionaire California Democrat who spends tens of millions to oust Republican climate-change doubters.

Faison says there's evidence Republicans vying for the 2016 presidential nomination are starting to listen to him. Some are getting away from language such as "I'm not a scientist."

Faison says he's not sure whether he'll endorse a primary candidate.
