Abercrombie reports 1Q loss
NEW ALBANY, Ohio (AP) — Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (ANF) on Thursday reported a loss of $63.2 million in its fiscal first quarter.
On a per-share basis, the New Albany, Ohio-based company said it had a loss of 91 cents. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 53 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 17 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 34 cents per share.
The teen clothing retailer posted revenue of $709.4 million in the period, which also fell short of Street forecasts. Fourteen analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $733.7 million.
Abercrombie shares have fallen 31 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 46 percent in the last 12 months.
