Film Columbus announces new executive director, Film Summit lineup

John Daugherty, now serving as the official head of Film Columbus (formerly The Greater Columbus Film Commission), announced today the lineup of speakers and panelists for the first-ever Columbus Film Summit.

Daugherty, who has been serving as interim executive director, is taking the place of Thomas McClure, who resigned earlier this year and had served as executive director since 2012.

The Film Summit will take place on Tuesday, June 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Strongwater Food and Spirits, 401 W. Town St.

Speakers include: Mayor Michael B. Coleman, Rich Cowan of Spokane (and the line producer/producer for "I Am Wrath," "The Ward" and "The River Murders"), Karri O'Reilly, Len Hartman, Shane Jatho, Chris Freeman, Joe Camoriano, Phil Garrett, Jennifer Lange, Jason Tostevin and Jeremy Hughes. More guests will be announced closer to the event date.

Topics will range from filmmaking in Columbus to film education, production and post production, as well as city and state incentives.
