Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams announced today that its scoop shops will be reopening at 7 p.m. on May 22, in time for Memorial Day weekend.

"The support from the community here in Columbus and throughout the country has kept us going these past few weeks," said Jeni Britton Bauerin the release. "We're excited to be making ice cream again and can't wait to share it with everyone."

Sun-Popped Corn, a new limited-edition ice cream, will be scooped, as will a few signature flavors and a few for nostalgia, too, like Root Beer.

Jeni's will spend the next few weeks working to return to full production.

"We are starting from scratch," Britton Bauersaid.

All shops will return to normal hours starting May 23.

The North Market location will not reopen until May 23 due to the market's hours. The Columbus Commons and German Village shops will not reopen with the others but will soon, according to the release. And all online and grocery store sales will resume later in the season.
