Bill Gross to join Janus Capital

NEW YORK (AP) — Janus Capital Group Inc. says that noted bond investor Bill Gross will be joining the company at the end of the month.

Shares of Janus jumped nearly 30 percent in premarket trading.

Gross will help open a new office in Newport Beach, California, focusing on fixed-income strategies.

His first day will be Sept. 29.
