LA call center firm sued by US for sex harassment

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The federal government has sued a Los Angeles call-center company for pervasive sexual harassment and for retaliating against employees who complained.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed the lawsuit Wednesday in federal court against VXI Global Solutions to bar the behavior and compensate employees who were harassed.

The complaint says employees were groped, shown pornographic images and endured lewd comments about their bodies and sexual overtures from supervisors. One female supervisor allegedly tried to give a lap dance to a male employee.

The complaint says the behavior should have been well known to management because of the open layout of the office. When employees complained, they were disciplined and sometimes fired.

The company did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
