How the Dow Jones industrial average did Monday

Worries about growth in China and a slide in the price of oil pushed the stock market to its biggest loss in almost seven weeks. Investors are nervous about China following soft economic data that suggest the world's second-largest economy is slowing down.
On Monday:
The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 107.06 points, or 0.6 percent, to 17,172.68.
The S&P 500 index slipped 16.11, or 0.8 percent, to 1,994.29.
The Nasdaq composite fell 52.10 points, or 1.1 percent, to 4,527.69.
For the year:
The Dow is up 596.02 points, or 3.6 percent.
The S&P 500 index is up 145.93 points, or 7.9 percent.
The Nasdaq is up 351.10 points, or 8.4 percent.
