BEIJING (AP) — Chinese state media say unidentified assailants have attacked the camp of a Chinese company in Cameroon, leaving 10 people missing and one injured.

The official Xinhua News Agency cites the Chinese Embassy in Yaounde, the African nation's capital, in reporting the attack, which took place Friday night.

Xinhua's report does not identify the Chinese company involved in the attack or give details of its operation. It also does not mention a possible motive.

China has a growing presence in Cameroon, helping the country build infrastructure, sports facilities and public health projects.

Trade between the two countries reached $1.88 billion in 2013.
