Hospice names new executive director

TROY — Hospice of Miami County Board of Directors recently named Heather Bolton as executive director of Hospice of Miami County, effective Jan. 1.

Current Executive Director Linda Daniel recommended Bolton to the board as part of succession planning as Daniel transitions to assisting the organization in a consulting role.

“Heather brings an excellent understanding of hospice finance, operations and the clinical service model, having held several positions at Hospice of Miami County since 2001,” said Tom Hagan, chair of Hospice of Miami County's Board of Directors. “She is deeply committed to the non-profit hospice mission, as well as to our patients and their families, our healthcare partners and to the Hospice of Miami County staff.”

Currently Bolton serves as director of finance and operations.

“I am honored and excited to step into the role of executive director of Hospice of Miami County,” Bolton said. “I have had the privilege of not only serving the organization but I have also have been on the receiving end of the mission-driven services for family members. While the health care environment will continue to change, our team is dedicated to delivering excellent hospice care as the local, non-profit, mission-driven hospice organization of choice.”

Bolton holds a bachelor's degree in organizational management from Bluffton University, and has plans to pursue a master's degree.

She lives in Troy with her husband, Todd, and their children, and is actively involved in the community.

Hospice of Miami County is a community-based not-for-profit organization founded in 1983 to improve the quality of life for people and families facing life-limiting illnesses. Services are provided to anyone who qualifies regardless of the patient's insurance coverage or ability to pay.
