ADRIAN — Parts of two roads in Raisin Township will be upgraded to all-season status under a Michigan program to promote year-round truck operations for businesses.

Resurfacing Occidental Highway and Valley Road between M-52 and Gady Road will improve a high-traffic, year-round commercial corridor between Adrian and Tecumseh, the Michigan Department of Transportation said.

The Transportation Economic Development Fund will provide half the project’s $750,000 estimated cost, with the Lenawee County Road Commission managing the project and providing the other half. Construction is scheduled for 2015.

The program also will provide $375,000 toward the $2.1 million estimated cost for rebuilding Carpenter Road between Packard Road and M-17 in Washtenaw County, southeast of Ann Arbor, and assist with five other projects statewide.
