Latest plans for the Pointe Oakwood include a pair of two-unit townhomes in the development bordered by Far Hills and West Schantz avenues.

Developer Lee Schear of the Oakwood Investment Group plans to build them on two of four interior lots he recently purchased, with single-family homes on the two lots between.

Tom Peebles will be the builder.

In addition, builder Bob Rhoads will begin constructing two more homes on adjoining lots to the immediate west of the Schear properties.

Four condominium buildings flanking the Far Hills-Schantz corner will anchor the southeast edge of Pointe Oakwood. An assisted living facility for senior citizens is planned by Michigan-based Randall Residence on near the Oakwood and Dayton border to the north.

No construction date has been announced for the senior facility and the condo start has been pushed back.

Earlier, Oakwood Investment Group estimated an April 2014 opening for a pair of three-story condo buildings containing a total of 12 two- and three-bedroom units. A pair of two-story buildings to be built beside the taller structures would be the second phase

At present, 21 lots are intended for single-family homes, two for the townhomes.

Elevations for the townhomes give the appearance of single-family structures. Access to one set of double garage doors will be on the front of the residence. Access to the other will be from an adjoining cul-de-sac.

Preliminary pricing for the homes Rhoads will build has been estimated in the $550,000 to $750,000 range.

Figures for the townhomes will be $300,000 for 2,000-square-foot units and $250,000 for 1,500-square-foot units.

No plans have been announced for lots 21 and 22, which are between the condo sites and the homes Rhoads will build; for lots 30, 31, or 32, which are north, toward the Sugar Camp athletic fields, or for the double-sized lot 5 in the center of Pointe Oakwood.

Lot number 1, which is just west of the occupied first home built in the development, has been purchased, according the the latest site plan.
