Tiffany opens first Cleveland-area store in Woodmere
Dazzling diamonds, sparkling silvers and glamorous golds filled the room as the new Tiffany and Co. opened its doors to the public Wednesday morning.
The latest Tiffany store, located in Eton Plaza at 28699 Chagrin Blvd. in Woodmere Village, is the third Tiffany Store in Ohio and first in the Cleveland area.
"We have been wanting to open in Cleveland for quite some time, we were just looking for the right location," said Cathy Elward, vice president of Tiffany's Central Region. "It's a really proud day for us to be opening in Cleveland ... and we are delighted that the day is finally here."
The new store, located next to Michael Symon's B-Spot and Menchie's Frozen Yogurt, is a 2,700-square-foot jewel in the upscale plaza.
Each Tiffany store is different, with special elements detailing the store.
"Cleveland has the latest design, in terms of store furnishing and product displays," Elward said.
Cleveland's store features several different motifs, including the magnolia leaf element in the carpet, dragonfly design in the fashion room and wheat pattern on the glass of the door.
"Those are motifs from our archives," Elward said. "We always look back, as we are a company with 176 years of history, so we always look back to our archive for inspiration."
The cases also tell a story of the pieces that could be bought at the store, and share the legacy and the history of the jewelry.
Several customers filled the store for the grand opening events, including a ribbon cutting, to experience the new store and maybe purchase a new piece for their collection.
"It's fantastic, it really is beautiful," Shirley Goldbergh of Shaker Heights said as she walked out of the store. "I have been to others, and I am a customer ... with maybe five pieces and they are all special."
Elward said the American brand is trusted among generations who know the high quality and has become a family tradition.
"We have attention to great design and use the finest material, are what really set us apart," she said.
