Downtown Casper bank robbed; police searching door to door for suspect [SUSPECT PHOTO]
A downtown Casper bank was robbed this afternoon and police are currently searching door to door looking for the suspect.
A suspect robbed the River Rail Community Federal Credit Union in the 500 block of Wolcott Street at 1:52 p.m., said Casper Police.
Police say the suspect is:
Male; Between 5 feet 5 inches and 6 feet tall; Wearing a dark blue or black hoodie; Possibly carrying a gray backpack; Wearing a white bandana, may have black face paint around eyes.
The suspect was last seen heading east from the credit union. If you have any information please contact the Casper Police Department at 307-235-8278.
Walsh said police have cordoned off a rectangular area of downtown bordered north and south by Collins Drive and 8th Street, and east to west between Wolcott Street and Beech Street. Officers are searching door to door for the suspect.
Walsh didn't release any info on weapons or money stolen from the bank. He did say police arrived quickly and chased the suspect on foot.
According to the Natrona County School District, via its Facebook page: "
"Due to the River Rail Federal Credit Union robbery in the vicinity of Park Elementary there is an increased presence by the Casper Police Department near the school.
"School release will take place as normally scheduled with the exception of children that walk home. Those students will need to be picked up by their parents."
A lockout was in place at Park Elementary, Reach Pro Start and the Special Education Service Center from about 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., NCSD said.
