QUAKER CITY — Charles W. Borton, 83, of Quaker City, died Sunday (June 10, 2018) at Willow Brook at Delaware Run, Delaware OH.
He was born March 21, 1935 in Guernsey County, son of the late John Cranston Borton and Wilma Esther (Groves) Borton.
A 1954 graduate of Barnesville High School, Mr. Borton retired from the Barnesville Water Department. He was also a sixth generation farmer.
He was a member of His Living Word Ministries.
Mr. Borton was a US Army veteran, having served from 1957 to 1959 in the 2nd Lt. Infantry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn (Britton) Borton; his second wife, Mary (Roden) Borton; a brother, Lawrence Glenn Borton; and an infant sister, Mary Josephine Borton.
He is survived by three sons, Robert William (Pamela) Roden of Cortland, David Matthew (Beth) Roden of Delaware, and Brian (Starr) Roden of Apple Valley; five daughters, Evelyn (Brian) Cunningham of Quaker City, Cynthia Corbett of Cortland, Barbara (Edison) Velez Barbosa of Lancaster, Margaret (Mark) Ringle of Dayton, and Tamera (Dave) Davis of North Carolina; a brother, John H. Borton of Barnesville; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be observed by the family with burial following at Fletcher Cemetery.
