The village will celebrate Halloween this Saturday, Oct. 26. Trick-or-treaters are invited to The Laurels of New London at 204 W. Main St. from 3 to 4 p.m. Village hours for trick-or-treating are 4 to 5 p.m., and the Rotary-sponsored parade will begin at 6 p.m. in the downtown area. Cash prizes will be given to costume winners.

Youngsters can collect a treat at the library with material checkout from October 24-31.

Orlo Auto Parts, operating under the NAPA Auto Parts brand, opened in August at 19 N. Main St. to serve the area and joined 13 other locations in Ohio. Its hours are 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. The phone number is 419-929-2265.

The American Legion Auxiliary offers a complete perch dinner, including dessert, for $12 from 5 to 7 p.m. (or until gone) Friday, Oct. 25 at the Legion Hall at 185 N. Main St.

The New London First Baptist Church at 432 Park Ave. is the site of Huron County Public Health drive-thru flu shot clinic for adults 18 and over Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

The Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) met Oct. 15 to discuss business updates. The next quarterly meeting is at noon Tuesday, Jan. 21 at the Wildcat Diner.
