The Barnesville High School Homecoming Queen and her attendant were crowned on Oct. 5. 

The 2019 Homecoming Queen is Lexi Johnson. She was lucky enough to pick the purple rose.

She is the daughter of Tony and Lisa Johnson. She is the granddaughter of Rob and Nancy Miller and the late Richard Johnson. Lexi has two younger brothers, Tal, a junior at Barnesville High School, and Carson, a sixth grader at the middle school. She also has two younger sisters, Aubrey, a freshman at the high school, and Mercedes, a fourth grader at the elementary school. She is a member of the Key Club, Interact Club, Drug-Free Club, Principal’s Advisory Committee, and Adopt-a-Shamrock. Lexi is also a three-year varsity B letter winner in track. She enjoys spending free time with her friends, family, and her second family working at The Wood Fired Pizza Company. She plans to attend Harding University in the fall, majoring in Business, with future aspirations to run her own company one day.


Runner-up was Jacey Stephen. She picked the pink rose.

She is the daughter of Matt and Jill Stephen. She is the granddaughter of Dave and Jeanette Hissom, Rosemary Stephen, and the late Dave Stephen. Jacey has one brother Jett, who is a sophomore at Barnesville High School Jacey is the senior class secretary, a member of the Art Club, Key Club, Interact, Varsity B, Drug-Free Club, Country Sunshine’s 4-H Club, and the Adopt a Shamrock program. Jacey is also a four-year letterman of the swim team and a letterman of the track team Jacey is currently employed at The Main Street Barrel House and likes to spend her free time socializing with her friends and spending quality time with her family. After graduation Jacey hopes to attend Ohio University where she would like to study business or criminal justice.

This year, the winning rose colors were different.

They had an honorary Homecoming Queen, Madalyn Myers. She and her mother Melissa suffered a tragic loss. Steve and Lydia (Madalyn’s father and sister) died in a house fire in September. Purple and pink were Lydia’s favorite colors. Madalyn helped crown the 2019 Homecoming Queen.
