NEW YORK (AP) — A former Citigroup executive has been sentenced in connection with a kickback scheme.
John Cassisi, a former child actor and director of global construction at Citi Realty Services, was sentenced Tuesday to two to six years in prison. He was charged with money laundering and bribery.
Prosecutors say he accepted $500,000 in bribes in exchange for steering contracts to certain firms.
Citi Realty manages Citigroup's offices and branches.
Cassisi's attorney says his 53-year-old client, who played a baby-faced gangland boss in the 1976 movie "Bugsy Malone," accepts responsibility for his actions.
A spokesman for Citigroup Inc. tells The New York Times that the corporation was appalled by Cassisi's actions.
