CINCINNATI (AP) - Researchers and Ohio retail officials plan to discuss the outlook for the pivotal holiday shopping period that picks up later this week with Thanksgiving and Black Friday sales.

CINCINNATI (AP) Researchers and Ohio retail officials plan to discuss the outlook for the pivotal holiday shopping period that picks up later this week with Thanksgiving and Black Friday sales.

The University of Cincinnati Economics Center planned to offer its annual projections Monday. The Ohio forecast is done in conjunction with the Ohio Council of Retail Merchants and uses sales data, consumer confidence and other factors in its model.

The National Retail Federation expects holiday spending this year to jump nationally by 3.7 percent to $630.5 billion. That gain would be above the 10-year average in holiday sales growth of 2.5 percent.
