The Standard & Poor's 500 index added 3.79 points, or 0.2 percent, to close at 1,923.82.

The Nasdaq composite gained 6.92 points, or 0.2 percent, to 4,627.08.

The Dow is down 42.66 points, or 0.3 percent.

The S&P 500 index is down 7.52 points, or 0.4 percent.

The Nasdaq is down 59.41 points, or 1.3 percent.
