PARIS (AP) Migrants hoping to reach England from northern France are swarming trucks caught up in traffic caused by striking ferry workers.

Video filmed near the entrance to the Eurotunnel showed migrants racing to catch a truck moving slowly through traffic in the northern port city of Calais.

Tuesday's strike by the workers cut off ferry service to the English city of Dover, diverting truckers to the freight service beneath the Channel.

Eurotunnel said the trains themselves were running near normally in both directions but traffic leading to the loading area was slow, and migrants were taking advantage of the snarls to try and sneak on board.

The union is protesting feared job cuts. Thousands of migrants are camped in Calais, hoping to make it to a better life in England.
