BEIJING (AP) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew says he is pressing Chinese authorities over proposed curbs on use of foreign security technology during meetings in Beijing.

BEIJING (AP) U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew says he is pressing Chinese authorities over proposed curbs on use of foreign security technology during meetings in Beijing.

Lew met Monday with a deputy Chinese premier, Wang Yang, and expressed "deep concern" about the curbs in proposed bank security and anti-terrorism rules.

The United States and Europe have complained Beijing is improperly blocking access to its market for security technology.

Lew told Wang, "We have already made clear our deep concern about issues regarding forced technology transfer and other attempts to bar technological competition most recently in the banking sector."

Lew was due to meet later with China's No. 2 leader, Premier Li Keqiang.
