FAYETTEVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - Items belonging to a great-granddaughter of President Ulysses S. Grant will be sold at an estate sale in upstate New York.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.Y. (AP) Items belonging to a great-granddaughter of President Ulysses S. Grant will be sold at an estate sale in upstate New York.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports (http://bit.ly/1BtBJS4 ) that Julia Grant Dietz's estate sale is being held Friday and Saturday in the village of Fayetteville. Before her death last March at 98, she was Grant's last surviving great-grandchild.

Dietz was born in New York City in 1916. She was the daughter of Maj. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant III, grandson of the Ohio-born Civil War hero who became the 18th president of the United States. President Grant died in 1885.

Dietz and her husband, John, moved to Syracuse in 1945.

The sale will include furniture, art and silver, along with family photos, tintypes and scores of antiques.
