McDonald’s announced this morning that it will open its newest restaurant at 6270 Far Hills Ave. in Centerville on Thursday, Oct. 10.
To mark the grand opening, McDonald’s will offer coupons for a free meal each week for a year to the first 25 customers in line at the drive-through and to the first 25 in line at the lobby entrance at 5 a.m. Thursday.
Construction began in July on the new fast-food restaurant, which was built on the site that previously housed Talegators sports bar. Talegators shut down in May and was razed shortly afterward. Talegators co-owner Dave Ulrich told the Dayton Daily News in May that he and his partners decided to shut down the sports bar and lease the land to McDonald’s, which closed a restaurant just up the street at 6004 Far Hills Ave. (Ohio 48) to make way for the new, larger facility. The now-closed McDonald’s opened in 1989.
The 4,800 square-foot arcade-style building seats about 104 customers, and the restaurant has flat-screen televisions and complimentary Wi-Fi. Outside, it has a dual-lane drive-through with three service windows. The new restaurant employs 75, a McDonald’s spokeswoman said this morning.
The new restaurant and its more accessible location will help its franchise owners better serve their customers, Debbie Wright, franchise owner-operator, said in a news release.
The restaurant is planning several special events Thursday, including a live radio broadcast, giveaways and games. A school fundraiser for Primary Village North will be held Oct. 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
