Columbus C.E.O. brought home four awards Friday from the 2011 Ohio Excellence in Journalism Awards, sponsored by the Press Club of Cleveland.
Design director Craig Rusnak took first place in the Print Visuals, Covers: Business Publications category for his June 2010 cover, "Social Media v. Privacy."
Staff writer Jennifer Wray won second place in the Business Publications, General News category for "The Big Gamble," our October 2010 cover story about whether a casino will save the West Side.
Staff writer Jennifer Wray won second place in the Open Print, Technology Writing category for "Biotech Boom," our February 2010 cover story.
Freelance writer Lisa Hooker took second place in the Open Print, Analysis category for "Busted Flat," an October 2010 story about Ohio's Unemployment Compensation Insurance Trust Fund being awash in red ink.
Congratulations also to our sister divisions Columbus Monthly, The Other Paper and Suburban News Publications for a combined 11 wins-including TOP being named the Best Non-Daily Alternative Newspaper in Ohio.
