Ohio State University has tapped physician-scientist Dr. Carol Bradford as its 15th dean of the medical college and vice president for health sciences the Wexner Medical Center, effective Oct. 1.
Known for her work in otolaryngology with a specialty in head and neck surgery, Bradford joins Ohio State from the University of Michigan and will hold the Leslie H. and Abigail S. Wexner dean’s chair in medicine. While at Michigan, Bradford was the executive vice dean of academic affairs at the medical school and chief academic officer at Michigan Medicine.
She received her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed her otolaryngology residency and a research fellowship at Michigan Medicine. She has authored nearly 300 articles, peer-reviewed more than 20 books and is an international invited speaker.
Leadership Columbus has added two new members, Kelly Clifford Riehl and Tyler Schleich to its board of trustees and hired Collin Ries as its new program and marketing manager.
A graduate of the Signature Program Class of 2018, Clifford Riehl is director of communication and community relations at Install Building Products and president of the Installed Building Products Foundation.
A graduate of the Signature Program Class of 2015, Schleich is the tax business development leader, for Ernst & Young’s U.S. central region.
Reis joins Leadership Columbus’ staff after earning his MA in nonprofit administration from John Carroll University and serving as the program’s graduate assistant. A Columbus native, he is an Ohio State University graduate.
Plante Moran has elected 25 new partners, including Mike Abramo, in its Columbus office.
Abramo joined Plante Moran in 2006 and leads the firm’s Ohio private equity industry group and its Ohio food and beverage practice. He provides assurance, tax and business consulting services to the firms manufacturing, distribution and service clients, including retailers, restaurants and food service companies. He has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Ohio State University.
Scott Bechtel has joined Rea & Associates, a regional accounting and business consulting firm, on its growing construction and real estate services team. In this role, Bechtel will use his extensive experience in tax compliance and planning services to lead the team as a principal in the firm’s Dublin office.
Bechtel earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Otterbein University and went on to earn his CPA. Over the course of his career, he has been active in construction and real estate-specific organizations, as well as the Ohio Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. In addition to his professional affiliations, Bechtel is a member of the development committee for Junior Achievement of Central Ohio.
Vargo, a provider of material-handling systems integration, warehouse execution software and equipment solutions for major fulfillment and distribution centers, has announced several changes.
Anthony Nembhard has joined the company as a software support specialist and will provide on-site and remote support to customers and assists in customer implementation and installations of continuous order fulfillment engine (COFE). He has a BS computer information systems from Regis University.
Joel Raymond, who joined the team in 2012, has been promoted to senior software manager. Since September 2018, he served as a software manager, overseeing the design and development of VARGO software and managing a team of software engineers. He has a BA in computer science Ohio State University.
Eric Griffin, who has been with the company since 2012, has been promoted to software manager. He previously was a software engineer, responsible for engineering Python applications for the company’s COFE. He served in the U.S. Army from 2004-2007 and has a BS in information from Ohio Dominican University.
