Chief executives across the Columbus region voted in our online poll to choose the CEO of the Year honorees. For 2019, we're celebrating four winners and 12 finalists.

What's not to admire about four executives leading their organizations—and the community—through major change while keeping their employees and customers happy at the same time?

That's the story we bring you this month through our annual CEO of the Year awards.

To find out who was named CEO of the Year for 2019, check out the slideshow below. You can find full profiles here.

Area CEOs, presidents, executive directors, managing partners and other C-suite executives voted for CEOs of the Year in four categories: large business, large nonprofit, small business and small nonprofit. The ballots were populated by suggestions from local chambers of commerce and other business organizations. Voters chose four winners and 12 finalists.

The online surveys, which included questions about the economic environment and business conditions, were completed by executives in the private, public and nonprofit sectors across the Columbus metropolitan area during the month of September. As part of a new partnership, Columbus-based Regionomics, a firm focused on economic development strategy and local economies, and its principal, Bill LaFayette, analyzed this year’s Central Ohio CEO Survey results for the magazine.

We'll release the results of the economic survey next week.

We hope you'll join us to celebrate the winners and finalists at the CEO of the Year reception Dec. 11.
