This marks the Cincinnati-based brewery's first location outside its hometown.

Opening its doors at 5 p.m. Friday, the 5,800-square-foot taproom in the Gravity development at 440 W. Broad St. in Franklinton boasts 16 taps. It will serve Taft’s award-winning New Haven-style pizza, which is cooked in a 1,000-degree oven on-site. It will serve flagship brews as well as some new styles that will be unique to its Columbus location.

The space is decorated with 1980s and ’90s pop-art and old-school video games built into the bar. There is a stage, and Taft’s plans to offer events such as live music, trivia, yoga and stand-up comedy. Once the weather is nice again, patrons can take advantage of a 2,000-square-foot patio.

“We are so excited to join the Columbus community. With this location, creating a fun experience is our goal,” Dave Kassling, managing partner at Taft’s Brewing Co., said in a press release.

Taft’s hours of operation are 4-11 p.m Tuesday-Thursday; 11 a.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday; and noon-9 p.m. Sunday.
