Once the world's leading bronzer of baby shoes, the Bron-Shoe Co. had an extraordinary run, churning out millions of metallic keepsakes for more than 80 years until it went out of business in early March. And baby booties weren't all it did. In March, Bob Kaynes Jr., the third-generation former owner of the business, shared with Columbus CEO some of the oddities lying around his now-shuttered factory on Alum Creek Drive. These treasures—many of which will be available for purchase at a March 25 auction—trace the curious history of one of the city's quirkiest businesses.
