The 21st Century Community Learning Centers After-School Programs extends appreciation to businesses and individuals who have supported the programs. 21st CCLC just finished its fifth year of a five-year grant in the Ravenna School District and its second year of a three-year grant in the Windham School District. The programs are funded by grants awarded to the Community Action Council of Portage County and operate through partnerships with Ravenna and Windham school districts. Collaborations and partnerships have been developed with a number of agencies and organizations.
Businesses, organizations, and individuals have supported the program’s efforts to offer additional healthy snacks to students by providing cash or food to the programs. In Ravenna, one substantial meal each week was provided by Guido’s, Domino’s, and Gionino’s Pizza. Dairy Queen and Pepperidge Farm (Tyrone Tuel) provided snacks monthly. In Windham, weekly meals were provided by Windham Bible Church, Windham United Methodist Church, New Hope Baptist Church and Samantha Pochedly.
Organizations and individuals that made monetary or gift card donations included: David and Anna Shea, Amy Adams, Kathy Battaglia, Natalie Esther, Lisa McKenna, Ashley Bault, Tilden’s Tax Service (Chinn Family), Target of Stow, Ravenna American Legion Post #331, State Farm (John Davison), Performance Elastomers (Art Bowen), Susan and James Huth, Bruce and Lucy Ribelin, West Main Elementary PTO, and Armstrong Travel (Shelly Moats), Subway of Garrettsville, and Circle K of Windham.
The 21st CCLC Parent Advisory Committee/PAIIRS has done an exceptional job in contacting businesses and individuals to ask for donations. Additional support is provided by KSU Upward Bound, Junior Achievement, NEOMED HPAC, and others. For information contact Amy Adams at 330-297-1456, Ext. 104 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
