COSHOCTON — The Coshocton Public Library System will be extending its hours of operation at the Main Library and the West Lafayette Branch Library effective Monday, July 2.
New hours at the Main Library are Monday – Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
New hours at the West Lafayette Branch Library are Monday – Wednesday, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Both the Main Library and the branch are closed on Sunday.
The Coshocton Public Library System continues to be a center for learning, communicating, gathering and entertainment for members of the Coshocton community, from birth through senior citizens. New and long-time staff members welcome the opportunity to assist patrons in locating information, reaching out through technology, or finding the next good read. Free WiFi, scan-to-email, voter registration, Golden Buckeye applications, and free public meeting rooms are just a few of the services available to Coshocton County residents. Library cards are free of charge to new patrons, and require only a photo ID and proof of current address.

Chi Class ?- Thursdays 10 – 11 a.m. at Roscoe United Methodist Church ?sponsored by Coshocton Public Library. ?Practice gentle exercises that reduce stress and increase vitality. We’ve Got Rhythm – Rhythm Cups for Teens? - Tuesday, July 10, 3-4:30 p.m. at Coshocton Public Library; ?Thursday, July 19, 5-6:30 p.m. at West Lafayette Branch Library. ?Have you heard of the "cup game"? It's a collaborative approach of using rhythm to make music. Teens will start with the basics of "tapping cups", then build their skills towards a program wide tapping experience. This program will provide many laughs as we work together towards our end goal of the ultimate rhythm experience. The program is part of the 2018 Summer Reading Program- Libraries Rock. Following the Barn Quilt Trail – presented by Author Suzi Parron - ?Friday, July 13 6:30-8 p.m. at the Coshocton Presbyterian Church Chapel?. Sponsored by Coshocton Public Library?Suzi Parron, author of Following the Barn Quilt Trail and Barn Quilts and the American Quilt Trail Movement, will take us on a journey along the quilt trail, beginning with the very first barn quilt, which stemmed from Donna Sue Groves and her wish to honor her mother's quilting art. The presentation features over one hundred stunning photographs of barn quilts, some of which rival cloth quilts in their intricacy. You will hear stories of some of the individuals who have painted quilt blocks to honor loved ones or their local culture, along with a few humorous anecdotes. Now, That’s a Rock: Gemstones with Jeff DeRan : A Program for Teens?- Monday, July 16, 6-7 p.m. at Coshocton Public Library. ?Jeweler Jeff DeRan from Dean's Jewelry of Coshocton and Mt. Vernon will share his love of gemstones in a sparkling hour. You'll learn what it takes to work in the jewelry industry, how gemstones are mined, and even get an up-close look at the "rocks". Outback Ray? - Thursday, July 19, 6-7 p.m. at Central Christian Church?. Sponsored by Coshocton Public Library. ?Outback Ray’s Amazing Animal Show is fun, exciting, and educational. This hands-on show is extremely entertaining for kids of ALL ages! Outback Ray brings 10 to 15 captive-born, exotic animals to the show. Each animal is handled daily to ensure the safety of the audience, as well as the animals. Don’t miss this show, specially brought in from Cleveland! This event will take place at Central Christian Church, one block from the Library, on the corner of Eighth and Main Streets.
