The following people were recently indicted by a Portage County grand jury. Indictments are only charges and not evidence of guilt:

Harold E. Gonzalez Jr., 26, of 901 Simon Lane, Kent. Receiving stolen property (a 2006 Ford Taurus), and aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine) a fifth-degree felony.

Colin E. Kenney, 28, of 3060 W. Edgerton Road, Silver Lake. Illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility (less than 1 gram of heroin), a third-degree felony, and possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony.

Dalton K. Lewis, 27, of 1664 Jennifer Lane, Streetsboro. Illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility, a third-degree felony, and aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony.

Gregory L. McFall, 64, of Warren. Theft from a person in a protected class ($1,240), a fourth-degree felony.

Khalil J. Nash, 21, of Akron. Possession of drugs (alprazolam), a fifth-degree felony, and falsification, a first-degree misdemeanor.

John R. Pessefall, 23, of 2354 Silver Springs Drive, Stow. Having a weapon under disability, a third-degree felony, and using weapons while intoxicated, a first-degree misdemeanor.

Dawn E. Schaedel, 52, of 7702 Newton Falls Road, Charlestown. Permitting drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony, and two counts of endangering children, both first-degree misdemeanors.

Brian M. Shaffer, 35, of 9315 Flora Ave., Streetsboro. Two counts of aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine and Adderall), both fifth-degree felonies, driving under suspension, a first-degree misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia (a plastic straw used to ingest narcotics), a fourth-degree misdemeanor.

Jacob P. Shingleton, 33, of 411 Lake St., Kent. Failure to appear in court after release on own recognizance, a fourth-degree felony.

Becky L. Stowell, 35, of 5141 Newton Falls Road, Ravenna Township. Obstructing official business, a fifth-degree felony.

Erika D. Strittmatter, 25, of Barberton. Failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony, receiving stolen property (an Illinois license plate belonging to a 2016 Chevrolet Impala), a fifth-degree felony, operating a vehicle under the influence, refusal to submit to chemical tests and driving under suspension, all first-degree misdemeanors, and operating a motor vehicle without reasonable control, a minor misdemeanor.

Nicholas R. Whitaker, 25, of 534 Ohio Ave., Ravenna. Aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony, and possession of marijuana, a minor misdemeanor.
