WOOSTER — Cellist Miles Richardson will perform with the Wooster Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Jeffrey Lindberg, professor of music at The College of Wooster, on Friday, Feb. 16, and Saturday, Feb. 17, at 7:30 p.m. each evening in Gault Recital Hall of Scheide Music Center (525 E. University St.).
Selections to be performed include the premiere of "Drawing Circles" by Wooster senior music composition major Emily Schwitzgebel, as well as Dvorak’s Cello Concerto in B minor, Op. 104 and Dvorak’s Symphony No. 8 in G Major, Op. 88.
Richardson, who plucked his first cello at age 11, studied music performance at Columbus State University and has served as principal cellist of the Akron and Ashland Symphony Orchestras.
Tickets are $10 and are available at Buehler’s (Milltown and Towne Market), the Wilson Bookstore on campus, and at the door of the concert. All students are admitted free of charge, and C.O.W. faculty and staff may obtain complimentary tickets at the Wilson Bookstore. Tickets can also be ordered from Scheide Music Center, 330-263-2419.
