CUYAHOGA FALLS — Marquis Who’s Who, an international biographical source, recently included Western Reserve Hospital physician and chairman for the Center of Pain Medicine Dr. Samer Narouze, MD, PhD, to acknowledge years of professional merit, according to a release from the hospital.

Individuals featured in Marquis Who’s Who are selected based on prominence in a field, position, significant accomplishments and more.

Dr. Narouze has more than 20 years of experience as an anesthesiologist and specializes in headache management, ultrasound-guided spine injections and nerve blocks, as well as the relationship between pain and obesity. In addition, he is board-certified in multiple fields, including pain medicine (American Board of Pain Medicine), interventional pain management (World Institute for Pain), headache medicine (Neurology Headache Medicine) and anesthesiology (American Board of Anesthesiology).

He is the president and founder of the American Interventional Headache Society, serves as a Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and as a Clinical Professor of Neurological Surgery at The Ohio State University. He also serves as the treasurer of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine and is the author of almost 200 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.

The Cleveland Clinic named Dr. Narouze a "master educator" in 2009. He was also included in the 65th edition of Marquis Who’s Who in America and received the Distinguished Service Award from the European Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine in 2015.
