The Aurora Friends of The Cleveland Orchestra recently hosted a Champagne, Wine, & Chocolates event at the Auburn Lakes Club House in Chagrin Falls.

Close to 80 guests enjoyed the evening as they sipped their drinks on the sprawling clubhouse deck overlooking the lake. Inside the clubhouse, a long buffet table was arranged with all things chocolate. The Friends filled their plates with chocolate cookies, candies, brownies, éclairs, tarts, and truffles.

Performing that evening was Mary Beth Ions, a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College and Penn State University. For more than 20 years, she has played with the Opera Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland Pops Orchestra, Playhouse Square productions of touring Broadway shows and provides back-up music for many artists including, Josh Groban, Rod Stewart, Johnny Mathis and Barry Manilow.

Not only is Mary Beth Ions a talented violinist with a huge repertoire, she performs with a sense of humor, engaging her audience by having them sing along to some songs and taking requests as she plays while walking around the room. All the guests loved her performance and showed it by giving her a standing ovation.
