Spooky Tales at the library

‘School’s Out’ movie event is Oct. 13

Bring the kids to the library on their half-day off school for an epic showing of a PG-rated film at 2 p.m. Oct. 13. The movie, based on a book series by Dav Pilkey, features action, thrills and laughs courtesy of budding cartoonists George Beard and Harold Hutchins. There will be a craft and door prizes offered. ‘Mad Science’ for preschoolers set

To kick off a new season of STEAM Storytimes, the Hudson Library will have Northeast Ohio’s Mad Science Fire and Ice Show for children ages 2 to 5 years with a caregiver Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. Everyone will be dazzled and entertained by the foggy dry ice storms, giant beach balls floating in the air and even a special Mad Science "burp" potion as they learn about chemical reactions, air pressure and the states of matter. Additional science, technology, engineering, arts and math story times for preschoolers will take place on the first Friday every month at 9:30 and 11 a.m. Register for one time slot.
