The West Salem Historical Society, in conjunction with the Wayne County Public Library, will play host to guest speaker, Kim Jurkovic, curator of the Tuscarawas County Historical Society, for a free lecture on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room, West Salem Branch Library at 99 E. Buckeye St.

She will talk about Ohio's own bad-boy, William Clark Quantrill. Born in Dover, he became infamous as an outlaw and guerilla leader during the Civil War.

The presentation will trace his life and role during the Civil War and the curious story of his final resting places.
