Reed Memorial Library in Ravenna offers a variety of programs in March for children, teens and adults. 

Finger Knitting for Kids

Children in kindergarten through fifth grade may take part in a fun finger knitting project at 6:30 p.m. March 19.

Participants will learn how to create a knitted item using only yarn and their fingers. All materials will be provided. Registration is required. Call 330-296-2827, ext. 300. 

Afternoon Book Discussion

Adults may participate in an informal discussion of the book "Uniform Justice" by Donna Leon at 1:30 p.m. March 21.

This bestselling mystery follows Commissario Guido Brunetti, who is called to investigate the mysterious death of a young cadet at a military academy, but faces a wall of silence as the academy closes its walls to outsiders.

Copies of this book will be available to borrow at the Circulation Desk.

Email Basics Class

An introductory class about using email will be held at 3 p.m. March 22. Participants will learn the basics of how email works, including how to send and reply to email, attach a file, and basic email terms.

Build and Create for Families

Families may take part in building and creating challenges from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 24. This monthly program offers multiple challenges for participants to complete using their imagination and provided materials.

Challenges are refreshed monthly. No registration is required.

Historic Ravenna Slideshow

Area residents may explore Ravenna’s past in a special local history presentation at 2 p.m. March 24. 

Those attending will discover the history and stories behind the buildings and people from the town’s past.

Bad Art Day

Teens in grades six through 12 may attend a Bad Art Party at 2 p.m. March 26. Teens will be challenged to create the worst art possible using provided materials.

No artistic skills are necessary. No registration is required.

Knit, Crochet, and Needlecraft Club

This group will meet at 6:30 p.m. March 26. Participants are asked to bring their works in progress, stories to share, and questions to ask.

This club is open to all levels of experience and spare materials will be available to use for practice.

Writers’ Group

Reed Memorial Library’s Writers’ Group will meet at 1:30 p.m. March 27. This group is open to all authors and writers interested in practicing new skills, networking with other writers, and sharing their work for feedback. No registration is required.

DIY Green Cleaning Products Class

The library will host a do it yourself green cleaning products class at 6:30 p.m. March 27.

Participants will learn how to make their own cleaning products that are safe to use around themselves, their pets, and the environment.

Paint Night for Kids

Children in grades three through six are invited to Reed Memorial Library for a special Kids Paint Night at 6:30 p.m. March 28. 

Participants will learn how to paint with Mrs. Shelley by following along and creating a painting on their own on canvas.

Google Drive Class

The library will present a class on using Google Drive at 3 p.m. March 29.

Participants will learn how to use Google Drive for storing, organizing, editing, and collaborating on documents online. Basic mouse and keyboard skills are required.

Egg-cellent Fun for Families

A special egg-cellent storytime program for families will be held at 10:30 a.m. March 30.

Participants will enjoy bunny-themed stories, activities, and a craft. Registration is required by calling the Children’s Department at 330-296-2827, ext. 300.
