WOOSTER — Gale Gand, a renowned restaurateur, cookbook author, pastry chef, former Food Network host, and mom to a College of Wooster senior, will give a cooking demonstration and sign copies of two of her cookbooks on Thursday, March 8, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Kittredge Dining Hall (535 E. Wayne Ave.).

Gand will demonstrate how to make Brazilian cheese bread, beef kofta with yogurt sauce and orange panna cotta. Tastings will be available. Her cookbooks, “Gale Gand’s Brunch!” and “Gale Gand’s Lunch!,” will be available for sale during the event.

For eight years, Gand hosted the Food Network series “Sweet Dreams,” the first nationally-televised all dessert show. She is the founding pastry chef and partner of the Chicago restaurant Tru, which opened in 1999. She has been recognized as Outstanding Pastry Chef of the Year by the James Beard Foundation and Bon Appetite magazine and was inducted into the Chicago Chefs Hall of Fame. The author of eight cookbooks, she also produces her own artisan root beer, “Gale’s Root Beer,” available nationally.

The demonstration is hosted by Campus Dining and is free and open to the public. For more information call 330-263-2106.
